Kierce moves into state singles finals

Central Wendouree’s Elizabeth Kierce is through to the Bowls Victoria state women’s singles finals in Bendigo next month.

The Ballarat District Bowls Division representative progressed after taking out the region final at Maryborough on Monday. 

She defeated Bev Holmes (Central Highlands) 25-18 in her first outing on a holding green after trailing early in the morning fixture.

Kierce then took on Leanne Wallis from Goldfields.

With the green having picked up speed, Kierce began confidently and played consistently to lead throughout and claim the title 25-16.

State champions week for all categories will be at Bendigo East Bowling Club on April 20-26.

BDBD midweek pennant grand finals will be played at Ballarat and Sebastopol clubs on Monday.

Divisions 1 at Ballarat: Central Wendouree v City Oval

Divisions 2 at Sebastopol: BMS v Mt Xavier

Divisions 3 at Sebastopol: BMS v Learmonth 

Divisions 4 at Ballarat: Sebastopol v Midlands Golf
