WHO could carry the spirit of sport and community for Ballarat in the Commonwealth Games baton relay? A call for community-nominated batonbearers is open until May 15. The baton left Buckingham Palace earlier this month, with the Queen sending the baton on its way with Australian Anna Meares. It will arrive in Australia on Christmas Day. Ballarat will feature in the relay on February 13 before it moves on to Ararat. It will arrive on the Gold Coast for the Games’ opening ceremony on April 4, 2018. Details: gc2018.com/qbr
