This year excellence in hospitality will be celebrated across the whole of Victoria excluding Greater Melbourne.
Veteran judge, industry expert and Nine Networks’ newest star Kevin Moloney will take up the role of lead judge in 2017.
“It’s a job that I, and my fellow judges, take very seriously,” Mr Moloney said.
“As judges, we know regional Victoria offers great dining out experiences and is home to a new breed of restaurateurs committed to excellence… unfortunately even the best can find it difficult to obtain the recognition they deserve.”
The Golden Plate Awards program helps restaurants, hotels and cafe in regional Victoria gain public recognition. Judging is done anonymously by experienced restaurant reviewers, with comprehensive feedback provided to the venues.
The four new regions are Bay & Coasts, including Geelong, the Surf Coast and Mornington Peninsula, Central Victoria, including Macedon Ranges, Bendigo and Mildura, North Eastern Victoria, including Yarra Valley, Healesville and Wodonga, and South Western Victoria, including Ballarat, Hamilton, and the Grampians.
