But if anyone could, it would be her daughter Danielle Hunter.
Ms Sefton opened Woolshed Clothing 22 years ago as a tourist attraction at the Great Southern Woolshed.
The store has since moved to Mair Street in 1999 and to its current location on the corner of Mair and Armstrong Streets in 2006.
Woolshed Clothing prides itself on offering quality knitwear and focuses on Australian made products, although Ms Sefton said this was becoming more and more difficult in recent years.
There is also an emphasis on old-fashioned service.
Ms Sefton said over more than two decades, the store had established a loyal following with customers coming from Melbourne, Bacchus Marsh, Hamilton and Horsham.
“If they are looked after, they will come back,” Ms Sefton said.
“It’s amazing, I’ve made so many friends over the years and it is a beautiful atmosphere.”
While the time is right for Ms Sefton to step away and have a well-deserved break, she said she would “miss the place terribly”.
However her daughter is no stranger to the store.
While Ms Hunter has a background in administration, she has helped out on weekends and whenever her mother has been away on holidays.
“Danielle can just breeze in here and she knows the shop and a lot of the customers know her, so it has just worked out perfectly,” Ms Sefton said.
Ms Hunter will put her own unique stamp on things, but is eager to stick to the store’s core values and cater for the same customers.
Plus her mother is never too far away.
“We are on the phone everyday,” Ms Hunter said.
“My biggest fear was if she sold it to somebody else, they would come in and change everything and maybe ruin what she has built up over the years.”
Ms Hunter said in the past two decades her mother had built up a great reputation in Ballarat and wanted to reassure customers that none of this would change.
