Despite low temperatures early on Saturday, the mercury quickly rose as temperatures remained at the April average through to Easter Monday.
A high of 19.4 degrees Celsius followed 15.6 degrees on Saturday and 17.2 degrees on Good Friday.
Saturday morning’s 2.2 degree weather was the coldest for the weekend.
The seasonal Easter weekend temperatures were in line with the monthly average for April.
However the Bureau of Meteorology predicts above average temperature throughout the rest of the week.
This includes up to a high of 22 degrees on Tuesday.
Senior forecaster Peter Newham the temperature would continue to rise through the week.
“The next couple of days will probably be above average,” he said.
“We are forecasting up to 20 degrees Monday, 22 Tuesday and 21 on Wednesday.”
