The pair are the only two Ballarat girls to make the squad that will play in the National Championships.
Three were named in an initial squad of 120, before the trial process took place and 70 players were cut.
The final training session will be held on April 23 as the final selection process takes place. The squad of 50 will be further trimmed to 25 players who will make-up a team that will travel to Mandurah, Western Australia in late July.
Jenkins, who plays for the Ballarat Swans, had never played football before, but took up the sport this year and made the GWV Rebels rookie squad. Playing alongside such quality girls saw her “improve out of sight” according to Ballarat Swans youth girls under-18 coach Rob Simmonds.
While Leonard, who has played with the boys at Daylesford for a number of years, has “elite skills” and her work around the stoppage is as good as Simmonds has come across.
