Fevola is great friends with Rennie coach Craig Ednie, having played with him at Yarrawonga – where Fevola won two premierships.
Fellow co-coach Sean Triplett said there was no issue with Fevola playing two matches in such a small space of time. He said Fevola had promised Ednie he would help the Rennie Football Club out and play a once-off match to help with its fundraiser, which will be held on Saturday.
Triplett said he and the club had no concerns with the decision and guaranteed Fevola would be available for all of Melton South’s matches.
“He’s best mates with Craig, the coach, and he said he’d play a game for them and this just happens to be it,” Triplett said.
He won’t miss any of our games – it’s not an issue.

“It’s just a once-off...he won’t miss any of our games – it’s not an issue.”
Melton South has enjoyed its best start to a season since 2011 and Triplett said that it had been felt around the club. He said tasting that winning feeling after years of heartache had reignited the vibe around the club.
Melton South made its intentions clear at the start of the pre-season, gaining Fevola and the highly-credentialed Triplett as coaches, which began a successful recruitment campaign.
The Panthers defeated Melton in its season opener by 14 points, before accounting for Sunbury by nine last week – both sides Triplett expects to be vying for a top six position.
“I think Sunbury and Melton will both fight for the top six, they’ll be there abouts.
“They’ve (our group) got the taste now and it’s non-negotiable.
“The crowds have been massive, the club’s benefited...and the town’s a buzz – everyone’s talking Melton South. That’s what we wanted and that’s what we’ve got.”
Ironically, Tuesday will be North Ballarat City’s first match for the season, while the Panthers already have two under their belt.
The affect of this anomaly in the fixture is hard to predict, but one thing is assured and that is a big crowd filing through the gates to see the latest installment of the Fevola show.
The Anzac Day clash will be held at Melton Recreation Reserve, with the first bounce at 3.25pm.
