Ballarat Christian College’s Bookaneer Book Fair will help stock the library with the “best of the best” of Australian authors, school librarian Kylie Weightman said. Proceeds from the five-day book fair, which kicked off with a pirate dress up day this week, will go towards the college library.

Ms Weightman said she used the fundraiser to stock the library with Children's Book Council of Australia notables each year.
“It assists us greatly to purchase new resources but it also encourages parents to come in and children to be able to choose their own books,” she said.
“It just enthuses them and encourages them to read more because we are supporting Australian authors and illustrators by concentrating on the notable list so that way they're getting the best of the best.”
