Hospital access re-open on Drummond Street

BALLARAT Health Services Base Hospital has re-opened ground floor access to the new Gardiner-Pittard Building early this afternoon.

A mechanical fault in the basement of the Drummond Street wing caused a power failure on Wednesday evening, forcing parts of the building to close.

The cause of the fault remains under investigation.

BHS took precautionary action to relocate 25 patients to the Bolte Wing but, in a statement released on Friday, confirmed there had been no interruption to patient care or services.
