Georgia Clarke (South West), Jasmine Kawa (Redan), Lauren Butler (Maryborough), Rene Caris (Quantong) and Sophie Van de Heuvel (Ballarat) are among 35 players named to prepare for the national championship in June and July.
They took part in an induction day at Carlton’s Princes Park on Saturday as the next phase in the selection process.
Vic Country opens its championship against Vic Metro at Geelong’s Kardinia Park on Saturday, June 17.
They then go to the Gold Coast for three games: Queensland, Monday, July 10; NSW/ACT on Wednesday, July 12; Western Australia Friday, July 14.
Clarke, Kawa, Butler, Caris and Van de Heuvel each had significant roles for Rebels in the inaugural TAC Cup Girls season.
The Rebels won three of their five games in the 12-team competition, which was won by Calder Cannons.
Kawa, Butler and Van De Heuvel each played all five games, Caris four and Clarke three.
Murray Bushrangers and Dandenong Stingrays have the most Vic Country squad representatives with nine apiece.
Geelong Falcons and Rebels are the next with five.
Diamond Creek VFL women’s coach Scott Gowans will lead Vic Country for the second year.
Meanwhile, the AFL Goldfields’ new-look youth girls and senior women’s seasons begin on Sunday.
The Ballarat and Riddell District leagues each have youth girls competitions, while there are two senior women divisions.
BFL and RDFL junior girls’ competitions begin on Friday, May 26.
