The Miners were defeated by the third-placed Camberwell Dragons 71-66 at Balwyn High School on Sunday.
Ross Weightman managed a double double in the five-point loss with 10 rebounds and 15 points, while Tristan Fisher was influential with 21 points, four rebounds and three assists.
The Dragons’ James Guley was the game’s top scorer with 28 points, along with six rebounds.
The Miners sit in eighth position with two wins and four losses. Their next match is against Keilor Thunder at the Mars Minerdome on Sunday April 30 at 1.45pm.
Meanwhile Rush upset the fourth-placed Kilsyth Cobras 62-52 at the Mars Minerdome on Sunday.
Claire Blower top scored with 17 points and 15 rebounds in the 10-point win, while Georgia Amoore was also influential with 11 points.
Rush sit in seventh position with two wins and four losses. They next play Diamond Valley Eagles at the Mars Minerdome on Sunday April 30 at 12pm.
