Newlyn’s Darwin recruits Dylan Fishwick and Alex Morrish have been included in the squad of more than 30, as has Hepburn forward Jackson Hogan and Buninyong pair Liam Rigby and Jack Robertson.
Meanwhile, Springbank premiership player and former joint-coach Nick Couch has informed coach Clive Raak that he is unlikely to be available for selection.
The Highlanders had their first official training session on Sunday morning, with the next to be held on Wednesday, May 3.
Raak will lead the Central Highlands into battle against the Southern league on Saturday, May 13.
It is Raak’s second stint in charge after losing the clash with Geelong and District last year.
That was the Highlanders’ first defeat since it joined the statewide championships in 2012.
