Daniel Joseph Torpy, 71, of Yendon, appeared in the Ballarat Magistrates’ Court on Thursday where he was asked to state his plea to the single charge of reckless conduct endangering serious injury.
“I plead guilty your Honour,” he told magistrate Belinda Wallington.
Prosecution withdrew the remaining three charges of driving in a manner dangerous, failing to keep left of an oncoming car and failing to keep to the left of a dividing line.
It is alleged Torpy drove onto the wrong side of Old Melbourne Road and collided head on with another driver on February 23, 2016.
Torpy was bailed and will now face the County Court for a plea hearing next month.
