Kelvin had CLIPPERS syndrome, a rare neurological condition that has caused him strong twitching and has stripped him of the use of his arms and legs. His friends used to call him Ant because, before CLIPPERS, he was always on the go. But he always tried to be court-side for games, or waiting eagerly for his wife Kaye to return from the Minerdome.
Known for his cheeky sense of humour, Kelvin liked Rush more than Miners: “they’re more speedy on the court than the boys,” he once told The Courier.
His favourite player Kristy Rinaldi wrote, “I hope we gave you all the joy in world when you watched us play.”
