Players can use an indoor warm-up area, about the size of two cricket pitches and lined with synthetic turf. The area will be fitted for cricket use of fellow tenant Wendouree Cricket Club.
Lakers president David Clifton said the facilities were “absolutely fantastic”.
“The new are is all connected to the social rooms, so junior and seniors can walk right through to the rooms after a game or training,” Mr Clifton said.
“There were a couple of set-backs in construction...we were thinking cricketers might’ve got a go in the rooms in the summer, but we’re officially opening the rooms this weekend.”
Mr Clifton said there were still finishing touches to be made, but it was nice to be moving in.
