The Vikings trailed 2-0 at half-time before the side found its right “team mentality” and charged over the top of the Dragons with goals at the 68, 69, 73 and 81 minute-mark saw it clinch a 4-2 victory.
“The first half we didn’t do what we set out to do and our team mentality wasn’t there,” Coach Corey Smith said.
“I think the most disappointing thing about the first half was that some of our players don’t have the same confidence in themselves as I have in them.”
The commanding win backed up Smith’s confidence in the group and he felt the side sent a “statement” to the league.
“I’m 100% confident we can make a big dent in this league this year. I honestly believe that there’s no team that can stop us when we’re doing the right things.”
