Ballarat Skoda Rush lost by 10-points in the South East Australian Basketball League round five clash at the Mars Minerdome, its third consecutive loss of the season.
But coach David Flint said each game had been an improvement.
“We got down by 14 (points) in the third quarter and our group didn’t quit and that is a huge thing for us not to quit,” Flint said.
“And we went on to a 16 to two run to end the third quarter and went into the fourth down by two.”
Flint said only scoring 10 points in the final quarter had been costly along with 16 turnovers for the game.
But four Rush players scoring 14 or more points was a highlight.
Burke had a standout performance with a double double consisting of 18 points and 17 rebounds, Ashleigh Spencer enjoyed a 14-point first half and Rinaldi stepped up when needed.
“Although we didn’t win it, we did some nice things tonight on the floor,” Flint said.
