Lanyon returned closer to his home of Boort this season, with the Bendigo Pioneers graduate joining Kangaroo Flat.
Sandhurst midfielder Lee Coghlan will captain Bendigo.
This is the fifth time he has represented the league and he steps up after an injury to Jack Geary.
While Bendigo was thrashed by Ballarat by 77 points two years ago in Ballarat, it has not lost at the QEO since 2007.
