Legendary AFL figure Kevin Sheedy says there should be a statue of goal-kicking great Tony Lockett in his home city of Ballarat.

Speaking on 3AW radio, Sheedy said Lockett might always remain the all-time VFL/AFL record goal-kicker.
"When you drive into Ballarat, Tony Lockett should have a statue there," Sheedy said.
"He is the greatest goal-kicker...probably we will never get that changed ever because of the way tactics are these days."
Lockett booted 1360 goals from 281 games with St Kilda and the Sydney Swans.
