Emerging comedy talent will return to the stage to showcase their best jokes at a Ballarat stand-up event on Saturday night.

The second running of Locally Grown Funnies will include a number returning comedians from the first event last month as well as three first-timers.

Ballarat’s Tim Young will MC and be joined by Scott Angove, Daniel Swadling, Ethan Cavanagh, Ross Watson, Dave Germon and Kel O’Connor.

Bendigo’s Ash Greblo, Ararat’s Travis Bywater and Nhill’s Alison Dahlenburg will also appear.

Three first-timers have been given spots in the new open mic section.

Livvi Campbell, John Bradshaw and Gayle Simpson will make their comedy debut at the event.

The first Locally Grown Funnies event was hosted at Babushka Bar with more than 60 people attending.

People wanting to try material during the open mic section can contact organiser Tim Young through Facebook at @youngycomedy.

Saturday’s event at Schnitz will be hosted upstairs with dining and bar service available.

Tickets cost $10 and can be bought online or at the door.
