They are among 27 players named to prepare for the next phase of the VFL’s build-up to a clash with Western Australia at Port Melbourne on May 27.
The squad has been trimmed from 42.
Rippon is one of only eight players in the latest squad who have previously represented the VFL.
The Roosters’ Brenton Payne continues with a development group as an extension of the main squad.
The VFL has lost its past three state games – in 2013 to the WAFL and in 2014 and 2016 to the SANFL – since defeating the Tasmanian State League by 108 points in Hobart in 2012.
