Ebery debuted for the Lions in 1947 and won four consecutive Redan best and fairests from 1948.
The ruckman and centre half forward was also Ballarat Football League best and fairest in 1949.
He played more than 100 games with Redan and was vice-captain of the all-conquering 1952 premier and champion team.
Ebery went on to coach Carisbrook for three years, taking the Redbacks to a premiership in the first year and winning two league best and fairest awards.
Castlemaine-born Ebery was the member for Midlands in the Victorian Legislative Assembly from 1973 to 1985.
