Local artist Jodie Goldring is putting the Year 7 students through their paces, encouraging them to think outside the box by producing installation works which focus on change.
As well as having the assistance of Goldring, the 20 students are also being guided by four Year 10 students from the school.
The works will be on display at the school’s open day, which will take place from 10am to 2pm on Sunday, June 2. Attendees will also have the chance to contribute to an interactive installation.
Goldring said the project, which was funded by Creative Victoria, was designed to challenge the traditional understandings of classroom learning.
“They’re year sevens so they’re very enthusiastic and very open to hands-on learning and they’re really keen to do something innovative,” Goldring said.
