Most Ballarat listeners tune into 103.1 Power FM, a first ever survey of the city’s most listened-to stations has revealed.

The survey revealed more than 45,000 people listened to 103.1 Power FM each week, which was the most listened-to by people aged 10 to 39.
3BA 102.3 FM nets more than 41,000 listeners a week, and is the most listened-to station by people aged over 39.
Over a quarter of people aged 10 and older surveyed by Xtra Insights listened to 103.1 Power FM, followed by 3BA 102.3 FM with 22 per cent of listeners surveyed.
Both commercial radio stations are owned by Grant Broadcasters.
Station manager John Fitzgibbon said the results showed the success of the stations’ focus on Ballarat issues.
“It’s who we are and the community has responded to,” he said.
triple j was the third most listened-to station, with 7.5 per cent of listeners. ABC Ballarat came fourth. netting 5 per cent of listeners surveyed.
The same pattern held true for breakfast radio, with 103.1 Power FM with 27.8 per cent netting 27.8 per cent of listeners, 3BA 20.5 per cent and triple j 8.6 per cent. ABC Ballarat was also marginally higher for mornings, with 5.7 per cent of surveyed listeners.
