Like Sovereigns, Waves has just one championship division win this season and both outfits will enter the clash optimistic of victory.
Sovereigns will be boosted by the services of Melbourne Vixens player Khao Watts, who will play a one-off match for Ballarat to gain some match time ahead of the Suncorp Super Netball series finals.
All VNL clubs have the opportunity to nominate SSN series players to represent their club – but gaining clearance from SSN clubs is not always guaranteed. However, Sovereigns division one coach Kim Bailey was stoked to have the services of Watts.
Bailey said all three matches were very winnable games against a Peninsula side that’s form line has followed a similar pattern to Sovereigns.
"They're three winnable games tonight,” Bailey said.
"They're in about the same position as us.
"We had a really good training session on Monday night so they're really confident the girls will bounce back.”
Sovereigns will also look to get a quarter into goaler Andrea Tai as she returns from her calf complaint.
