Survivors of Suicide will host a ceremony and reflection time to mark National White Wreath Day on Sunday.
SoS founder Kristy Steenhuis wants to make is a space to honour loved ones in how they lived, rather than focus on how they died.
Ms Steenhuis said people could bring a poem or photo to lay with wreaths and they were welcome to sing.
“This is a safe, non-judgement space, and a chance to speak to the SoS team who will be around,” Ms Steenhuis said. “Because suicide is such an isolating grief, it does help to know you are connected.”
This is the fourth year SoS will host the commemorations in Sturt Street.
There will be live music from 10am before a ceremony from noon. The ceremony will feature guest speakers sharing their stories.
Balloons will be released in memory of loved ones and wreaths will stay in place for the next week.
