The Tigers proved they are on track for a third-straight premiership with a 15-point success on the Crows' home turf.
Pitted as a battle between the proven champions and the new kids on the block, it was Springbank that produced a much better first half to lead by 23 points at the main break.
Led by star small forward Jack Duke, the Crows hit back in the third term and were within two points of the Tigers at the final change.
As the rain started to tumble, the match turned into a scrap. But that didn't deter Springbank's Nick Couch from producing two pieces of individual brilliance that resulted in the only goals of the last term.
Couch was one of the standouts for the Tigers, as was Billy Driscoll, Joel Maher and Tyler George, while Duke played a lone hand in attack for Beaufort with five of the team's six majors for the day. Brendan Howard tried hard in defence, while Rupert Sangster and Joel Chester gave some spark.
In other games on Saturday, Buninyong snuck home against Rokewood-Corindhap, Gordon thumped Skipton, Bungaree was too good for Creswick, while Daylesford, Newlyn, Waubra and Hepburn all won.
