Sebastopol coach Corey Smith said Altona brought an extremely defensive tactic in order to quell his side, but Smith said any team attempting to do that would struggle to last a full 90 minutes – Saturday was testament to that.
A scoreless opening half and a scrappy first 15 minutes of the second led to a devastating three-minute patch which reaped three Vikings goals.
Pietro Angeli, Jack Mirabella and Kuanyjal Tuany all scored in quick succession before Adrian Curtain topped off the day with the Vikings’ fourth.
“I think they came with a plan to frustrate and sit men behind the ball and any team that does that against us does at their own peril,” Smith said.
“We dominated the first half...it was a matter of time before we scored.
“We can’t really judge where we’re at until we’ve played everyone.”
Sebastopol sits second, one point off Point Cook.
