Little separated the two sides heading into the match.
But Keilor’s second win of the season has pushed the team up to seventh position, while the Strikers are now sitting in ninth with only Preston Lions below them.
The Strikers came out strong in the opening half but failed to hit the scoreboard, with Keilor taking a one goal lead into the main break.
Alyson Pym once again proved valuable in the centre back position, adding much needed experience in a young squad.
She was moved to the position in the second half against South Yarra the previous week to shore up the back line and played a pivotal role in stemming an onslaught of goals.
Strikers coach Laura Brady said Pym would spend more time in defence after the impressive effort.
But in the second half against Keilor, Pym was needed in the forward line to help create a more attacking style of play.
Keilor took advantage of the change in position and, with just three left in the back line, hit the scoreboard.
With three quick goals from the 80th to the 85th minute mark, Keilor put the game away.
Keilor finished the game with a five goal lead, with the Strikers unable to score.
Emily Stipic and Aleksandra Sinclair contributed two goals each for Keilor, while Marisa Tisocco scored the other.
The game was played in wet and windy conditions on a synthetic pitch.
The Strikers had not played Keilor in state league one north-west before, with the team promoted to the top level of competition at the end of last season.
The Strikers now have a must-win game against bottom of the ladder Preston Lions at home next week.
