Saturday, Forty Thieves Band @The Old Hepburn Hotel
Taking inspiration from Chess label artists such as Howlin’ Wolf and Little Walter, while infusing harder edge, swamp style blues such as Jerry McCain and Elmore James, Forty Thieves perform strong riff based blues original songs with their own take on some blues covers.
With the line-up of drums, bass, keys and two guitars, the Forty Thieves deliver a powerful package that will visit uptempo funk styles of artists such as Freddie King and the Southern Blues style songs of the Allman Brothers.
Sunday, Out Of The Blue @ The Old Hepburn Hotel
The event will feature a combination of 1920s, 30s, and 40s acoustic blues, rag and swing. Vintage Blues machine King Maxwell teams up with local songstress Nel Staite to perform a repertoire that spans old country blues through to the swinging sultry styles of the 40s.
