Wilson had 12 months in the senior role, but also coached a number of the Combine’s junior teams over the past few years.
Ballarat-Redan Cricket Club president Paul Aikman said it was Wilson’s decision to part ways, citing time commitments as the main reason behind the call.
“We’re going through the process at the moment, we’ll hopefully have someone by late week,” Aikman said.
“He decided to move on and take a step back.”
Aikman praised Wilson for his contribution to the junior program and said while he won’t have a direct input to the senior side, his development of now-senior players remains.
“He’s been a junior coach and helped our young kids develop, most of those kids have become good senior cricketers.”
