Officers said he entered Darley’s IGA liquor store along Grey Street about 7.40pm on May 26 before trying to sneak out a bottle of booze.
Staff confronted the man before he bolted out a door with his loot, according to police.
In response, detectives released a CCTV image of the man in the hope of identifying him.
