The driver of a Mazda Hatchback was lucky to walk away unharmed on Saturday morning after being involved in a crash with a Toyota van in Bullarook.
The crash occurred at the intersection of Springbank Road and Clarkes Hill Road at about 8.45am.
The van was travelling north along Clarkes Hill Road while the Mazda was heading east towards Melbourne.
A portion of Springbank Road was blocked off for about 30 minutes while police and tow trucks tended to the scene.
The single male occupant of the Mazda was not injured in the crash, while the male driver and female passenger of the van also walked away unharmed.
Heavy fog in the area hindered visibility on the road and remained present until about 9.15am. Drivers are urged to take care in the coming weeks with the fog set to remain a feature throughout the region.
