He has been selected for the Emerging Boomers for the 29th Summer Universiade in Taipei on August 20-29.
Moller will join former Ballarat Rush co-captain Abby Wehrung, who is with University of Canberra in the WNBL, at the Games, where she will play with the Emerging Opals.
Attached to the Sydney University in his home state, the 22-year-old Moller is one of three Victorian-based players in the 12-strong national squad.
Australia has drawn the same pool as Ukraine, Lithuania, Israel, Russia and Mozambique.
National selection continues as stellar year for Moller – his first full season with the Miners in the South East Australian Basketball League. He was named SEABL player of the week for his efforts with Ballarat at the weekend and has signed to move from Sydney Kings to Melbourne United in the upcoming SEABL season.
However, his World Uni Games campaign will impact on the make-up of the GMHBA Miners if they go deep into the play-offs.
Basketball Ballarat senior elite teams administrator Melissa Thomas said Moller would be available for the opening week of finals, but be overseas for week two and three, with the latter being the conference championship play-off.
Meanwhile, the Miners will meet the Chinese Taipei men's national team at the Minerdome on Sunday at 4.30pm.
Chinese Taipei is in Australia preparing for the Asian qualifying championships and will also have friendlies against Melbourne Tigers and Melbourne United.
Ballarat already has ties to Chinese Taipei with Rush import Joy Burke having represented it a national level.
