THESE little piggy banks went to (super)market in a bid to help Ballarat children with life-threatening conditions. Coles Ballarat staff joined in the grocery giants’ first trolley push across Victorian towns and suburbs to help Very Special Kids, a children’s hospice and family support charity.

Team members from across metropolitan and regional stores took turns in pushing a specially designed trolley across the state in a 12-day journey, which arrived at Bakery Hill on Thursday afternoon.
Shoppers could donate gold coins, buy VSK merchandise or join in a community barbecue to help the trolley-led cause.
VSK chief executive officer Michael Wasley says the hospice costs more than $7.5 million to operate each year. The organisation has a regional service in Ballarat.
“All funds raised during the Trolley Push will go directly towards children with respite and care in the hospice. We’re especially thankful...and (for) bringing it to the Ballarat residents,” Wasley said.
