Residents attending funerals will now have access to the rotunda, which was built by Ballarat City Council and the Learmonth Cemetery Trust. The Learmonth cemetery is known for having historical and family tree significance in the area.
The completion of the rotunda and Internment Wall is the final project delivered under council’s Making Learmonth Engaging Communities Program.
It was funded by council and the federal government and supported by the Learmonth Community Action Team.
The council program partnered with Learmonth businesses to deliver 12 projects with almost $1 million in government funding.
