The Roos had been sitting second on the ladder after round eight, but finish round 11 in ninth position and percentage behind eight-placed Learmonth.
Waubra was competitive but trailed at every change against the Tigers before going down by 19 points at the final siren.
Springbank, which named ruckman Brock Freeman and small midfielder Tyler George (three goals) as its best, remains on top of the table after the success.
However, there is more injury concerns at Tigerland after coach Michael Searl left the ground on Saturday with a knee issue.
Elsewhere, Bungaree consolidated its spot inside the top four with a hard-fought triumph against Learmonth.
The two teams traded the lead on a number of occasions, but it was the Demons that eventually broke away in the last quarter to secure the 24-point win.
Reigning league best and fairest David Benson was colossal in the ruck and was the standout player on the park, Joel Mirtschin bobbed up with some late goals to secure the result, while Jack Oostendorp and skipper Jackson Murphy led the backline division for the home side.
The Demons are now a game clear inside the four, while the Lakies have slipped to seventh.
There were some blowouts in other fixtures across the competition, with Buninyong, Hepburn, Beaufort and Ballan all winning by big margins.
The other victors were Daylesford over Newlyn and Dunnstown against Creswick.
There will be no play in the CHFL next weekend with the competition taking a break.
