Loader will move from his existing role as a development coach with the Kangaroos – a position he took up last season.
North Melbourne football general manager Cameron Joyce told the club’s website that Loader had a wealth of experience with developing young players.
“He has established great relationships with our emerging players over the past two seasons.
“We’re confident he’ll enjoy a really smooth transition into VFL coaching as we enter the competition in 2018.”
Loader spent nine years with the Rebels in various positions.
He was a runner and development coach in 2007, backline coach in 2008, midfield coach and under-16 development squad head coach in 2009, and senior assistant, midfield and under-16 coach in 2010 and then head coach for five years.
Loader told The Courier at the time of his North Melbourne development coach appointment “it’s a pathway I’ve always wanted to follow, it’s a real chance to stretch myself out and test myself again.”
He coached SMW Rovers Football Club in the Mininera District Football League before moving to the Rebels.
