The music theatre program leader will join the faculty at the State University of New York and Watch This Theatre Company as choreographer and assistant director for their production Merrily We Roll Along.
In five years under Wynen, agent placement rose to more than 90 per cent. Ballarat graduates who have gone on to star in major musicals under Wynen’s tutelage include Sarah Morrison (Ladies in Black), Jaz Flowers, Joe Kosky (Kinky Boots), Andrew Ronay-Jenkins, Lachlan Martin (Georgy Girl: The Seekers Musical and Strictly Ballroom), Cristina D’Agostino, Chris Durling and Josh Piterman.
Nancye Hayes was appointed patron and graduate Lewis Beer won the inaugural Music Theatre Educators Alliance international scholarship. Wynen has also been senior lecturer of dance and movement at Federation University.
