Phentermine, an appetite suppressant and banned substance, was found in a sample taken from Michelle Payne at the Swan Hill Cup meeting on June 11, 2017.
Payne, who rode Prince Of Penzance to victory in the 2015 Melbourne Cup, was stood down from riding in races on June 23 with an inquiry to be held Thursday, June 29.
Ms Payne has been requested to attend the inquiry on Thursday which will be conducted at 11am at the Racing Victoria headquarters in Flemington.
If found guilty, the standard ban for testing positive to a suppressant like this is believed to be about one or two months.
The Courier has attempted to contact Payne for comment.
The inquiry will commence at 11am.
