Mr Kent, known as Mick, was a member of RSL Victoria for 70 years. 

He joined the organisation after serving the Australian Army during the Second World War. 

Mr Kent enlisted in October 1941 as a 19-year-old where he was allocated to the signals corp. 

He served in Western Australia before being deployed to New Guinea and the Indonesian island Morotai

Mr Kent was awarded five medals for his service in the Second World War. He was discharged in 1946 as a corporal. 

On his return to Australia, Mr Kent took up a soldier's settlement allotment and joined the RSL. 

During that time he was president of the Macarthur sub branch, associate member for Hamilton sub branch, RSL state executive for 14 years and country vice-president.

Mr Kent was awarded an RSL life membership and RSL Anzac award.  

In 2001 he received an Order of Australia for his services to veterans and their families. 

Mr Kent and his wife Stephanie moved to Ballarat where he joined the Sebastopol RSL sub branch. 

Sebastopol RSL sub branch president Bryan Nicholls said Mr Kent was a highly regarded and well respected RSL club member. 

"He was a much loved person and had a very gracious manner about him," Mr Nicholls said. 

"Everyone who knew him really loved him."

Mr Nicholls said Mr Kent was a resident at an aged care facility in Canadian where he still maintained his gracious manner.

Mr Nicholls said RSL members across Victoria were saddened to hear of Mr Kent's death. He was aged 95.

Mr Kent is survived by his wife Stephanie, of 67 years, and children Marie, Tony, Paul, Christine and Peter and their partners.

He was grandfather to 10 grandchildren and 10 great grandchildren.
