THE Southern Cross Strikers under-13 boys were unable to score a win on the weekend, with the South East Cougars and the Northern Allstars both proving competition too tough to beat.
The teams competed in a matches on Saturday and Sunday, making the second round of the year exceptionally busy.
The Strikers versed the South East Cougars first, where their pace and technical skill took the Strikers time to warm up to.
Five minutes in, the team had adjusted and the defenders held off numerous attacks.
Daniel Angeleski and Will McLoughlin tried hard to create opportunities for goals, but none were successful and before half-time the Cougars had scored.
The Strikers played a good technical game and although they worked tirelessly, the Cougars took two more goals with the final score board three to nil.
In their second, against the Northern Allstars, the Strikers controlled the game from the start.
An unlucky corner ball resulted in the ball rebounding back into the Allstars half with a goal following.
With no scores in the second half, the final scoreboard stood at Allstars on one, Strikers nil.
