MILITARIA FAIR
The Eureka Arms and Militaria Fair brings together more than 180 trading tables of displays, antique and modern arms, medals, knives, swords, badges, uniforms, hunting and shooting supplies and clothing, collectable ammunition, living history groups, memorabilia and more from 9am on Saturday and Sunday at Wendouree Sports and Events Centre. Adults $10, pensioners/seniors $8, free for children and adults in full military uniform.
ROBOT FUN
NAO robots are small, interactive humanoid companion robots and on July 25 they’ll pay a visit to Ballarat Library. The 58cm robots will be part of a NAO robot workshop running from 4pm to 5pm for children aged eight to 15.
During the free workshop library visitors can interact with the robots, learn how they are programmed and controlled and watch as they do a variety of activities.
MARKET TIME
The third weekend of the month is a boon for market lovers around Ballarat. On Saturday the Smythesdale Country Market takes over the town’s Glenelg Hwy historic precinct with fresh food, preserves, crafts, books, second hand goods and more from 9am to 1pm.
Also on Saturday the Creswick Market is a popular drawcard and a great day out with free live music and more than 90 specialist stalls running at 19-21 Victoria St from 9am to 1pm.
Take a trip north on Sunday to the Talbot Farmer’s Market which takes over the heritage precinct around Scandinavian Cres and Camp St from 9am.
