Sovereigns won every quarter but it was the second quarter that did the damage. The 12 goal to three term extended the margin to 14 at the half and set-up its third win of the season.
The division one side set the tone with an impressive 17-goal win over an Ariels outfit that entered the game level on wins with Sovereigns. The victory keeps Sovereigns in fourth position, holding out three clubs seperated by a game hoping to edge into the four alongside a clear top three teams.
While Sovereigns’ percentage is healthy, it will not matter given it has played a draw.
The 19/under team went down by 22 goals as it continues to search for its first win of the season. Despite the tough season, Sovereigns championship assistant and division one coach Kim Bailey said the development of its younger players was promising.
This season was always going to be a development season as it lost some key 19s to the championship division.
