The second of the Australian Winter Weekends Public Lecture Series takes place on Sunday at 2.30pm at the Museum of Australian Democracy at Eureka. The lecture series explores how Indigenous Australia influences our nation today.
Sunday’s topic is Heroes of Fire and Flood, and Reigniting the Firestick in 2017, with a mix of historical lecture, award-winning documentary and floor talk revealing the stories of unsung Aboriginal heroes who rescued people during bushfires and flood in the 19th century. And learn how local Aboriginal land management leaders are reinstating Aboriginal cultural burns in central Victoria.
MILITARIA FAIR
The Eureka Arms and Militaria Fair brings together more than 180 trading tables of displays, antique and modern arms, medals, knives. swords, badges, uniforms, hunting and shooting supplies, clothing, collectable ammunition, living history groups, memorabilia and more from 9am today and tomorrow at Wendouree Sports and Events Centre. Adults $10, pensioners/seniors $8, free for children and adults in full military uniform.
