A new Quest hotel will reach five storeys high when it is completed as part of the Ballarat Station Precinct redevelopment.

The details of the planned hotel, which were released earlier this week, show the 77-room establishment in the north-west of the precinct will be split between four and five levels.

The hotel will have a ground floor car park with 54 spaces in addition to the 87-space private park to be used by the nearby convention centre.

The site will also boast an internal drop-off zone as well as short term parking, which will be accessed via the convention centre car park.

The development will be Quest’s second investment in Ballarat, with the hotel chain already owning a block of apartments on Dawson Street North.

However the government is yet to commit to a construction starting date for the development, with resources being focused on the multi-storey car park build which is scheduled to begin in September.
