Coach Danny Gnjidic said it was a “surreal” feeling after the match given he was extremely pleased with how his side played for virtually the entire game, but how it conceded three goals in five minutes left the players and coaches scratching their heads.
The teams entered half-time at 0-0. City scored 15 minutes into the second half before doubling its lead after 84 minutes. Yet goals at the 89, 92 and 94-minute mark left the visitors stunned.
“It’s always disappointing to lose, it’s more disappointing when you’ve led 2-0.
“We found ourselves looking at each other in the dressing rooms not sure what happened.
“To be driving home with a 3-2 loss seems a bit surreal.
“As much as it hurts to lose, I was really pleased with the players’ performance...we did what we had to do for 89 minutes.”
