Jake, 10, is now the state champion of the 65cc B grade. Having led into the final round he rode smartly to maintain his position. However in the 85 small wheel B grade category, a collision saw him lose top spot and finish second.
“I’m relieved I finally got the overall win on my 65. I was pretty happy to come second in the 85 small wheel class too,” he said.
While for Zak, he entered the final round at Wonthaggi in third position and rode very well to move into second on the podium in the 7-9 years 50cc category.
“Jake had a really good year, we didn’t have any expectations because it was his first year (in the category). We’re really pleased with Zak, because last year he finished ninth,” Proud mother, Kate said.
The boys thanked Ballarat-based Ballarat Motorcycles and Mitas Tyres.
