The event is a fundraiser for the local community and funds raised will be put toward maintaining the community hub, the Dean hall. Dean Hall and Mechanics Institute secretary Claire Montano said the 117-year-old building, where a few birthday parties and weddings are usually held every year, is in need of some work.
“Unfortunately a few areas in the floorboards are starting to rot away and it’s becoming an issue. There is also some much needed paintwork.” Ms Montano said.
The highlight of the evening will be two competitions, with prizes donated by local businesses up for grabs for the the biggest potato and the best cooked spud dinner.
The event will also include a three course meal (BYO drinks), music and family activities and raffles and kicks off at 6pm on August 4.
Tickets are $25 for adults and $50 for families. Contact Danny on 0407 056888 or Claire on 0407 000143 for more information.
