By no means has City been belted in recent weeks, but it has lost its grasp on winnable matches of late while last week’s conceding of three goals in five minutes to lose 3-2 required some hard questions to be answered.
Gnjidic said one of the great things about his group was its willingness to critique its performance and not shy away from tough feedback. However, the effectiveness of those discussions will be on-show as City hosts the winless Bendigo.
Gnjidic said his team was in no position to take anyone lightly.
“They’re obviously a young team, but they beat the Ballarat boys this time last year...we’re coming off three losses ourselves so we can’t take anyone lightly,” Gnjidic said.
“We need to be stronger mentally and more resilient when things aren’t going our way.
“We’ve spoken about being consistent during the year and I think we got to a point where we were, now we’ve lost a little bit of consistency.”
Shaun Romein will miss with suspension after his yellow card last week while Josh Romein will be given every chance to be right for the match as he works towards full fitness.
